Showing Love for Pierce County - Fundraising & Foundation Update
With our final numbers wrapped up for last year, we are so proud to announce a 2023 fundraising total of $56,093.25 to the Windermere Foundation. Thank you to all our REALTORS and staff who made contributions throughout the last year.
The Windermere Foundation has now celebrated 35 years “dedicated to helping low-income and homeless families since 1989”. Whenever you transact with a Windermere Real Estate Agent, a portion of every transaction commission is donated to the Windermere Foundation. Many of our real estate agents also contribute donations over and above the standard percentage, nearly doubling the direct donations (at a total of $14,245). Our WPP Broker Over and Above donations from commissions totaled $12,954.50 in 2023.
A large contributing factor to our 2023 success was from our fundraising events. Notably, our first annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser brought in $19,450. Thank you to ALL our sponsors, players, donors, and volunteers who joined us in June of 2023 at High Cedars Golf Club in Orting. The Golf Tournament proceeds were raised for Habitat for Humanity Tacoma Pierce County, for a donation commitment made in partnership with our colleagues from Windermere Abode.
That was a very FUN event, and due in large part to that success, we have begun planning another for 2024.
Other 2023 events included our Office Poker Run (generating $600) and our annual Holiday Party Silent Auction which raised $12,405 in December. We had many kind donations received for the silent auction, and this was our highest Holiday Party total, to date. The outpouring of support this year at events was really rewarding and brought us much to be grateful for during a slower real estate market.
Each year, our office’s elected Broker Advisory Board members make selections of local non-profits who we will raise Foundation funds for all year. Of the total funds raised, 75% remain locally and are distributed to organizations of our choosing.

For 2024 Foundation Fundraising, our Broker Advisory Board has chosen to support the following local Pierce County Non-Profits:
Caring for Kids (Lakewood & greater Tacoma region)
Harbor Hope Center (Key Peninsula / Gig Harbor / Port Orchard)
Recovery Café Orting (East Pierce County)
Level the Field Sports *to receive funds from the 2024 Golf Tournament
The first three listed, Caring for Kids, Harbor Hope Center & Recovery Café Orting will be funded through direct Windermere Foundation donations generated from contributions made each time a transaction closes, directly from a portion of the agent’s commission.
Our 2024 Windermere Professional Partners Golf Tournament Fundraiser for Level the Field Sports will be on Friday June 28th at Allenmore Golf Course in Tacoma, WA. We hope you will join us for a shotgun style Golf Tournament.
