Roy
A community of country living with a small-town feel.
Residents of Roy love that nature awaits at their doorstep. From spectacular views of Mt. Rainier to acres of wide open pasture, Roy truly puts you right in the heart of rural living. Be prepared to see all kinds of critters, whether that means cows or horses in your neighbors pasture, or animals out in the wild! By now, it’s probably no surprise that the city even hosts an annual rodeo, a definite highlight for the country-lovin’ community.
Those who enjoy a bit of distance from their neighbors and cherish the beautiful outdoors of the Northwest will find themselves at home in Roy, but that doesn’t mean it’s a completely isolated area. Close to the neighboring city of Yelm, Roy is just a drive away from Yelm’s many amenities, like its shopping opportunities, restaurants and movie theatres. Residents also appreciate the short 15-minutes drive to Joint Base Lewis-McChord’s east gate, a 35-minute drive to Tacoma, and a one-hour drive to Seattle. Roy is home to Wilcox Farms and the world famous Stewart’s Meat Market, established in 1929. The Roy Rodeo is a favorite event for residents and visitors alike, and offers a great opportunity to experience the local flavor. The Lacamas Community Center country fair, the June Jubilee Tractor Show and the Easter egg hunt are a few of the fun events in the city.
Roy’s housing market offers a variety of options, including manufactured homes, custom built homes, old farm houses, luxury acreage, and equestrian properties.
