Lakewood
A lush landscape of scenic lakes rests alongside city convenience.
Aptly named, Lakewood is a community brimming with beautiful lakes, a defining feature that inspires Lakewood’s lush gardens, private clubs, large lakefront homes, first-class golf courses, and plenty of other opportunities for outdoor fun. Home to American Lake, Gravelly Lake, Waughop Lake, Lake Louise, and Lake Steilacoom, Lakewood’s location is a Pacific Northwest treasure—it’s easy to call it “home.”
Alongside Lakewood’s natural beauty is its strong and well-established local economy, and Lakewood’s more urban areas are hubs of shopping, business and recreation. Lakewood’s diverse population is largely influenced by the nearby Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and its close proximity to Interstate 5 offers convenient access to nearby cities.
LOCATION Centrally located, Lakewood has easy access to many neighboring cities and communities, including Steilacoom, University Place, DuPont, Tacoma, Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Camp Murray.
LAKES American Lake offers multiple public boat launches, public parks, stunning views of Mt. Rainier, and is home to some of the most valuable real estate in Pierce County. Steilacoom Lake is a popular lake with public park and lots of boat activity. Gravelly Lake offers lots of Privacy and more waterfront living.
GOLF Golf enthusiasts are in luck: Lakewood is home to Oakbrook Golf Course (Owned by PGA Pro Ryan Moore) and the Tacoma Golf & Country Club (Oldest Private Golf 7 Country Club west of Mississippi River).
SHOPPING The Lakewood Towne Center features a wide variety of shopping and dining options.
